Our lead is Craig Watkins Licensed Real Estate Agent, property developer & investor.
Craig brings over four decades of experience in property investment and development to the New Zealand real estate market.
He purchased his first property at just 18 years old and has remained actively involved in the property space ever since.
Whilst studying for his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Property Valuation and Economics at Lincoln University, he also managed to squeeze in the renovation and sale of three properties.
His early career included work with Housing New Zealand and a private apartment developer, giving him early exposure to both social housing and private sector development. During the 2000s, Craig was appointed to sell down the $1.5B Rhubarb Lane project at City Works Depot, an ambitious off-plan apartment development that was ultimately halted by the Global Financial Crisis. Undeterred, he went on to build a successful Auckland-based house and land business in which he operated for eight years. After relocating to Ponsonby, Craig led the sales of Vinegar Lane - a landmark 30-lot subdivision designed for mixed-use, multilevel apartment and commercial buildings. He personally developed a six-level tower within the precinct, solidifying his position as both a skilled marketer and experienced builder. Since 2003, Craig has operated as a licensed real estate agent, subsequently with licensee-level certification, leveraging his unique perspective as an investor, developer, and advisor.
Personal Investment Track Record
Craig’s personal real estate investment activities include: Land acquisition and subdivision, House and land packages, Villa renovations, off plan apartment purchases and Multi-unit apartment development, and he is currently coordinating the development of four adjoining sites totalling 34 apartments. Craig’s blend of technical knowledge, practical experience, and market insight makes him a trusted partner for investors and developers seeking clarity and opportunity in all market conditions.
